Ghana is 56. Are we too content?

            Dr. Kwame Nkrumah
Happy 56 Independence Day to my country of birth, the former Gold Coast Ghana. Ghana I love you but you break my heart sometimes.
Would Dr. Kwame Nkrumah be happy in his grave? I am really not to sure. Are we really free my fellow Ghanaians and Africans? I don't think we are free.

Our thinking, mindsets must change. We are capable, very capable of all the Dreams Kwame Nkrumah envisioned for us. Lets not be too content with with mediocre . You can demand better and you deserve only the best from our elected leaders.

Ghana is blessed with vast natural resources.
We have gold, diamond, cocoa, timber, and now oil. Why must a section of the population go to bed hungry? Ghana wake up! Attitudes must change, my people.

Today on the Ghana's birthday, you should reflect as individuals and as a nation. What changes do we want to see? What can we do individually and what can the government do to play its part.

Now everyday on twitter folks are tweeting about ECG ( Electricity Company of Ghana) and their failing power supply. Ghana sells electricity to two other neighbours. How do we do that when we are not providing adequate power source for our people?
May be our population has grown so much since the construction of the Akosombo Dam by Nkrumah, that would explain why we don't have enough power.

I will recommend that the Ghana government looks into constructing another dam or an alternative innovative energy source like the sun and wind which we have abundance of.

Ghana your people deserve better, Ghanaians you can do better! Let's do away with Give it to God attitude.
